What Makes the Mastery Program Unique?

Elli Milan designed the Mastery Program to be completed in one year, drawing from her own experience in art school. Despite spending five years in art school, Elli found that she was never taught how to build a business in art or given the confidence to believe she could succeed. Her professors didn't help her find her voice or instill the belief that she could have a successful art career.

Elli wanted to change all that. The Mastery Program focuses on what people truly need to learn to have a career in art. The program is structured to teach you enough in one year to begin selling your artwork, with many students starting to sell even sooner. This is on-the-job training, reflecting Elli’s own experience of learning more after college than during.

Program Structure:

  1. Skill Development:

    • The program begins with a strong emphasis on drawing and oil painting skills.

  2. Mixed Media Exploration:

    • The next section delves into mixed media techniques, including spray paint, inks, acrylics, collage, textures, and gold leaf. This phase is all about discovering your voice and finding your style, with guidance to help you understand what your paintings represent and the processes best suited to your temperament.

  3. Portfolio Building:

    • In the third part, you build your portfolio and develop personal habits to keep you motivated and productive in the studio, even when inspiration is lacking.

  4. Personal Branding and Marketing:

    • The final section teaches you how to create a personal brand, develop a marketing strategy, and decide whether to pursue traditional gallery representation, or self-representation, as well as which market you'd like to enter, decorative, fine art, or a combination. You’ll learn how to promote and sell your artwork, tailored to your unique voice and style.

The Mastery Program is comprehensive, covering skills, personal development, portfolio building, and marketing. While designed to be completed in one year (at about 20 hours a week with breaks every five weeks), the pace is flexible to fit your schedule.

The program is delivered through easy-to-follow videos and assignments, with professional artists providing feedback and encouragement. It’s not just an online course; it’s a vibrant community. You’ll connect with coaches and fellow students from around the world through weekly Zoom calls, ensuring you’re supported every step of the way.

We have countless success stories from graduates who have ditched their jobs to pursue full-time art careers, and it's truly exciting!
